Africa is significantly under-developed compared to other parts of the globe and this has resulted in stilted economies. However there is a resurgence and great growth, particularly in the energy sector and for oil and gas. Gas-fired power generation promises to unleash development and open African countries up to each other for more trade and commerce.
Examples of how gas power is driving African nations forwards includes the growing understanding of importing LNG. Various countries are now working together to build pipelines and facilities to transport gas throughout Africa from the fields to cities. As well as African countries working together there is considerable development between Chinese and other nation companies.
With the additional construction projects and facilities there is great hope that more of Africa’s communities will be connected to the grid. Already Africa’s richest man is promising to build a new oil refinery with the capacity to power much of Nigeria’s energy needs.
